A 22-year-old Evansville, Ind. "mother" has been charged with child neglect after a video surfaced of her 1-year-old daughter playing with a handgun and shouting “pow” to emulate the sound of gunfire. Yes, you read it right!
The mother, Toni Wilson, a former cashier at McDonald's, and her partner, Michael Barnes, 19, were arrested after police discovered the cellphone footage while investigating Barnes on a separate criminal charge. Barnes was also charged with child neglect in the case.
The disturbing video shows Wilson's daughter, whose name has not been released because she is a minor, can be seen playing with a .40 caliber handgun while sitting on a bed at the couple's home in Evansville. While the child waves around the deadly weapon, Barnes can allegedly be heard encouraging the toddler to shoot and say “pow.” The child says, “pow,” before holding out the gun and pretending to fire.
Wilson's daughter is currently in emergency care. THANK GOD! She is joined by two one-month-old twins, who were also living at the home at the time and of whom Barnes is the "father".
There are no words for this. No clever analysis, and no amount of reasoning that can justify or excuse this behavior. This "mother" and "father" are just plain STUPID!
