A former UPS employee in Arizona is accused of stealing a package containing a $160,000 diamond and trading it for $20 worth of weed.................What a DUMMY!!
Walter Earl Morrison, 20, thought that the package he allegedly swiped while unloading cargo at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix contained cash, according to a probable cause statement. But in fact, the package contained one pricey stone.
Authorities say the "half baked bandit" traded the diamond for the equivalent of two joints of marijuana, a grape soda, and a spiced ham and cheese hero.
JUST KIDDING! Just the weed.
The diamond was later recovered and returned to its intended recipient.
Morrison was arrested Sept. 16 on a felony theft charge. He was scheduled for arraignment Oct. 1.
He has been charged with one count of robbery and is being held in jail.
Court records don't list an attorney. He was due to appear in court for the first time on Tuesday.
Pro Tip: If you give cops a fake name, make sure it's not that of a person wanted for more serious crimes than the small infraction you're accused of committing. Otherwise it's just a bad idea. Not that it wasn't bad to begin with.
