Jesus Can Be White, But Annie Can't Be Black?

Over the past decade or so I have come to the realization that there are no original ideas left in Hollywood. They just rehatch and remake the old ones. A hand few have been good. But most have been not so good.

The latest remake has caused quite a stir which is nothing more than much ado about nothing. A certain segment of America has a huge problem with the latest interpretation of "Annie". In the newest adaptation, (Quevenzhane Wallace), who just happens to be African-American has been cast in the the title role of Annie. Which in and of itself would not be a big deal except for the fact that there are those among us who's lives are so void of meaning that they have nothing better to do than to obsess about the race of fictional character. 

So, since they obsess, I insist. I must preface this by first saying that there is absolutely no comparison between Jesus Christ and Annie. Son of God, little Orphan Annie. No comparison. But the fact of the matter is, despite a clear description in the Bible. Images of Jesus have always shown him to be white, and this image as been accepted by the world. Even though it does not appear to be accurate. This depiction is rarely if ever questioned and it's cultural significance is astounding. Especially given the fact that paintings and pictures of Jesus have been the subject of artistic interpretation for centuries.

But the world can't have a Black "Little Orphan Annie?" These so called critics should be happy that I haven't remade Superman yet. They would really hate me.
