The Soda Conspiracy!

As he stood on the loading dock, watching the big rigs unload case after case of leftover Coca-Cola for supermarkets in the black neighborhoods of Dallas, William D. Wright says he learned how to keep his mouth shut and do as he was told.
For years, he says, he stripped expired soda cans from their cardboard sheaths, stuffed them into fresh boxes with new dates stamped on the side, then piled them on store shelves as if they were new.
As long as they did not leak, dented cans were sometimes repackaged, too. It was all part of what his co-workers called the fire sale.
''I knew what we were doing was not right,'' said Mr. Wright, a Coke deliveryman for 14 years. ''But every time I brought it up, I'd hear: 'I'm the boss. You do what I say.' ''
Marching with bullhorns and spreading their message over talk radio, dozens of Coke drivers, plant workers and salespeople are accusing their bosses of inching up profits for almost a decade by pawning off expired soda cans and bottles on minority communities across North Texas.
Rather than throw the old drinks away, the workers contend, factory managers have ordered them to salvage truckloads of old, unsold drinks from stores in predominantly white areas, only to cart them to the poorest neighborhoods where shoppers are seen as just as thirsty but a lot less discriminating.
''It still looks good to the naked eye,'' said John Wayne Waleford, a Coke driver for the last 14 years. ''But the people in the community don't know what they're buying.''
A spokesman for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of North Texas, which oversees the plants and workers around Dallas and Fort Worth, called the accusations ''irresponsible and offensive.'' Not only would such a practice fly in the face of Coke's policies nationwide, the company says, but it has scoured supermarket shelves to ensure that only the freshest drinks are served.
''These allegations are totally without merit,'' said the spokesman, David Swords. ''This would not be tolerated. If it did happen, it was a select few individuals who were acting on their own.''
Still, the accusations come from more than workers, including one current and one former employee who have unrelated employment discrimination lawsuits against the company. Even some store managers in largely black neighborhoods grumble about getting the dregs of the lot.
''Whenever I called and complained, instead of taking the product away, they would just bring it to the back room and repack it,'' said Kenneth Newsome, a manager at the Sack-N-Save in Oakcliff, a predominantly black suburb of Dallas. ''Then they would use Windex cleaner to erase the expiration date on the bottles.''
Though Coca-Cola workers say that the drinks were as much as 30, 60 or sometimes even 90 days out of date, none contend that they posed much of a health risk. Soda can be old enough to grow mold without causing any acute illnesses. But soda past its expiration date goes flat and loses much of its taste. So the real issue, the workers argue, is one of basic fairness.
''I would warn the African-Americans coming into the store not to pick it up,'' said Llewellyn Hamilton, who has stacked cases of Coke for nine years. ''I'd tell them, 'There's a reason why you got it that cheap.' '' The workers said Coca-Cola products were often discounted in these stores.
The controversy comes at a bad time for Coca-Cola Enterprises, which owns the Texas operation and controls much of Coke's distribution across the country. Inspired by the $192 million racial bias settlement won by their counterparts at the company's corporate headquarters in Atlanta two years ago, black workers in the Baltimore-Washington area, Cincinnati and Chicago have begun organizing discrimination cases of their own.
''We have a clear policy against discrimination of any kind,'' said John H. Downs Jr., a spokesman for Coca-Cola Enterprises. ''If any employee has violated it, they will be held accountable and we will take appropriate and swift action.''

George Zimmerman Involved In Another Shooting!

If you're anything like me, meaning, you have a brain, common sense, and a knack for seeing the inevitable, it should come as no surprise that this emboldened moron has been involved in another shooting. Which emboldened moron? You ask. The one, the only, George "The New O. J. Zimmerman" of course. A man who got away with murdering a child in the face of overwhelming evidence, but, to my delight cannot manage to stay below the radar. New O.J. will eventually get himself convicted or killed. Either or is fine. Until then, as I've said before I'll continue to enjoy his slow unraveling.
Zimmerman  was involved in a shooting in Lake Mary, Florida, on Monday, police spokeswoman Bianca Gillett said.
Zimmerman apparently suffered a minor gunshot wound,
The affiliate spoke with one witness, Ricardo Berrare, who also said Zimmerman's injuries didn't look serious. But that is most likely because brain damage cannot be seen from the outside.
"He walked normally into the ambulance, so he wasn't being helped or nothing," Berrare said.
The shooting is under investigation, but it appeared to be some type of road rage incident.
Police said there were no fatalities in the shooting and said the department would not release additional information until a briefing planned for Monday afternoon.
An employee at a nearby business, Kenneth Cornell, said he was exiting his car after lunch when a man drove up and started yelling about the shooting.
The man shouted to Cornell: "I shot George Zimmerman, call 911. I don't have a phone."

Cornell said the man didn't know whether Zimmerman was hurt. He called 911.
According to Cornell, the man told him that he and Zimmerman have had three disputes. Of course this time, Zimmerman waved a gun and the man shot at him, according to Cornell.
Police arrived minutes after he called 911, Cornell said.
Police have not officially verified Cornell's account..

This may be just my opinion, but anybody who has a gun, and no phone is dangerous! Its a question of priorities and intent. With that being said, the whole world knows that Zimmerman is a shooter. So if you come in contact with a known shooter/murderer you have a reason to fear for your life. If you fear for your life, and you have a gun, what else are you suppose to do but shoot? Especially if you happen to be a shooter yourself.

Just Like Any Other Day!!!!

Side Bar: Isn't every day white appreciation day?!

Every now and then some nutty white man has the nerve to execute a bad idea.  The thing about bad ideas is that they are never well thought out, are poorly planned, and rarely, if ever make sense. This is the latest bad idea.

In at misguided attempt at whit, the crazy owner of a Colorado barbecue restaurant who drew criticism for offering a "White Appreciation Day" discount says he wants to celebrate Americans of all races, not just one...........

What started off as a joke about how there's no holiday that celebrates "the white community", has has been misinterpreted as a racially charged promotion, said Edgar Antillon, co-owner of Rubbin' Buttz BBQ and Country Cafe in Milliken.

Of course it has because the fact of the matter is that there are holidays that celebrate "the white community." Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Independence Day and St. Patricks Day are not "black holidays". Black people celebrate some of these holidays, but if you look at the root of them we have little if anything to do with their origin.

"We are an amazing culture here in the U.S. We're a melting pot," Antillon went on to say, "But we should include white people in that, too."

A sign posted in the restaurant's window announcing "White Appreciation Day" on June 11 reads, "Because all Americans should be celebrated."

In an interview, Antillon said it was unlikely that he would offer a discount to other racial groups. On Saturday, however, Antillon said that any American -- white, black, Asian or Hispanic -- who visits Rubbin' Buttz on June 11 will be offered the same 10% discount.

Antillon said he understands the need for heritage months to celebrate groups overlooked in history. As a Mexican-American, he said he has experienced racism firsthand.

But, that doesn't mean any race deserves to "segregated" to a monthlong celebration, he said.

"I should be celebrated every day of the year, but so should white people and so should black people," he said. "We should all be celebrated all year long."

News of the discount drew mixed reviews as it spread across the country this week, prompting the restaurant to address the controversy on its Facebook page.

"Although we've had overwhelming support for it, there are a few who are filled with hate and/or misunderstanding. People full of hate and negativity want your attention, don't give it to them. Stay happy!" the statement said.

But claiming "reverse racism", which is essentially what is happening here is a JOKE. All Antillon has managed to do is alienate anybody who is not white. Which may have been his goal in the first place. Well, mission accomplished!

Some responding to this message dismissed it as a publicity stunt, while others condemned it as a racist promotion that downplays the history of racial inequality in the United States.

"Yeah, like the rest of the year doesn't already belong to the White people!" one commenter said.

Others thanked Rubbin' Buttz owners for acknowledging that "whites deserve the same amount of appreciation as any other race."

Antillon apologized to the community of Milliken and to his restaurant's former owners who, like him, have been targets of threatening messages, he said.

"Our intention was not to put white people on a pedestal," Antillon said. "It was merely to fight fire with fire."

Just When You Thought You Heard It All News (5-9-2015)

This is Mother's Day Weekend! But that doesn't give a mother the right to subject her children to cruel and unusual punishment.
Can you blame little Diondre'?!

"Train up a child in the way.............
It works both ways you know!

MOOOOM Pleeeeease!!!

NO WORDS!

The thing about elevator doors is that they open and close, a point to keep in mind if you're actually dumb enough to rob someone in an elevator. Deputies in Florida's Broward County say surveillance video shows a scum bag armed with a knife entering an elevator and taking the purse of a 77-year-old woman! Then he tries to leave and walks right into the closing doors. He eventually got out and is still at large. Now that his image is circulating nationwide as the object of ridicule, that might not last long. He's probably still carrying that purse!

She Made A Super Hero!!

The odds were stacked against Moxie Girl, but she had already saved the Jacksonville Public Libraries from a wild group of hungry monsters, so beating out 530 entries to win more than $16,000 for her creator would be easy, right?

Well, that's exactly what happened after 7-year-old Natalie McGriff took her creation, The Adventures of Moxie Girl, a comic book about a black girl who hates her hair until she uses a magical shampoo that turns her curls into superfighting Afro puffs, to One Spark, a huge crowdfunding festival in Jacksonville, Fla. One Spark attendees pay an entrance fee and then vote on how the money should be dispersed. Moxie Girl was created after Natalie's mother noticed her daughter having hair-esteem issues.

"I decided to help Natalie write this book because she was having self-esteem issues regarding her hair and she hated to read," Angie Nixon said in a statement viewed by the Courier. "She now realizes how powerful and awesome her hair is and that in order for her to write a cool book, she needs to read more books and learn different words."

In the end, the hero prevailed and Moxie Girl edged out the competition, beating the closest competitor by just three votes.

Good triumphs again!

"Already bought my first slave."

A picture of two young, clueless girls waving Confederate flags has angered and upset students and parents at East Chapel Hill High School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, after the image was posted on Instagram and has gone viral.

The picture was reportedly taken by a student at the school and shows the teen girls waving the flags while at the Gettysburg National Battlefield during a school trip that took place a few weeks ago. The person who posted the photo captioned it: "South will rise." But apparently they hadn't counted on anger rising as well.

Several people commented on the photo, which has since been removed from the social media site. One person replied, "Already bought my first slave."

The identity of the student who posted the photo has not been revealed because of his age, but the school confirmed that it is addressing the issue -- though a specific action plan has not been made public.

Do It!

So, you're not happy, and you don't know why. You devote your days devoted to something that does not deserve your devotion. And you wonder why you're not happy? You must ask yourself, is this what I'm meant to be, or is there a greater purpose for my life? The answer lyes within the question. PURPOSE. Most of us don't live in our purpose, live on purpose or live for our purpose. What do you REALLY want to do? Most importantly, what are you good at?
I want to be a Superman, but I'm not good at flying. I'm a great writer, if I do say so myself, but I'm no Clark Kent. I live within my purpose and I live on purpose. Do what you love. Instead of finding reasons why you can't, find reasons why you can.

Just Plain Stupid!!

"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity".

Martin Luther King Jr.

Clemson University put its Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity chapter on probation for two years over a party the frat threw last Christmas. An investigation found that the gang-themed party violated the university’s alcohol rules and student-conduct codes.

Students attended the gathering, dubbed a “Cripmas” party, dressed like Crips and Bloods gang members and posed for pictures, which were posted on social media.

They should have had the party in Compton for authenticity. Then this story would have taken a tragic turn.

The timing of the party made matters worse. It happened shortly after campus protests over a Ferguson, Mo., grand jury’s decision not to indict the white police officer who fatally shot unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown last August!

Images from the off-campus party ignited concerns among African-American students about the racial climate. Many black students, who represent just 6 percent of the student population, expressed their anger on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. They also told university officials that the university is failing to promote racial tolerance on campus.

In addition to the two-year probation, the fraternity must also complete educational programs on alcohol, social justice and gangs.

The national Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity also condemned the party. It issued an apology and said in a statement that the behavior of a few members “in no way reflects the values and creed of the fraternity.”

This comes on the heels of the University of Oklahoma’s disbanding of its SAE chapter after a video surfaced of some members engaging in a racist chant.

It's seems SAE was founded on racism, intolerance and stupidity.

JUSTICE IN BALTIMORE?!

On Friday, America, and Baltimore in particular received some measure of justice when State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced that charges would be brought against the six officers who were involved in the murder of 25-year-old Freddie Gray, and the crowd erupted in cheers!

“Thank you, Jesus!” someone yelled. “Yeah!” exclaimed another.

“To the people of Baltimore and the demonstrators across America, I heard your call for ‘no justice, no peace,’” Mosby said during the press conference.

Here are just a few of the images from Baltimore after hearing the news.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
BUT LETS NOT FORGET. JUST BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN CHARGED DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY WILL BE FOUND GUILTY!!!!!
Don't sleep.
